It is often said at every turn that the printed press is doomed, and that the newspapers and magazines still in circulation are fighting their last battle. Even if this is true as a general trend, it does not seem to apply to music magazines. This is especially the case when it comes to publications focused on rock and metal. Since the beginning of the year, our webshop has been offering two such monthly magazines, both of which rightfully deserve the attention of fans of heavy music.
The prestigious Hammerworld magazine, which returned after an almost two-year break, is celebrating the fortieth anniversary of its founding this year. To mark the occasion, it is delivering everything that has made it the bible of hard rock and heavy metal for decades on a bigger scale than ever before. Thanks to its cooperation with the English Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, and Guitar World, Hammerworld offers unique content covering the full spectrum of rock and metal, while its renewed editorial team of acclaimed journalists also provides a wealth of exclusive material. The 116-page Hammerworld magazine is available in our webshop for 2,990 HUF, and ten issues will be published this calendar year on a monthly basis starting in March.
In addition, a new magazine was launched a few months ago: Underworld. The name is no coincidence, as the magazine was founded by a team that split away from an earlier incarnation of Hammerworld. This publication focuses more on events in the underground scene, with a less mainstream direction overall, reinforced by its freer structure and a fanzine spirit in the best sense of the word. At the same time, its range is also broad, spanning from AOR to black metal, and its quality is ensured by well-known writers. Underworld, which is also published monthly, caters to readers across 84 pages and is available for 2,900 HUF.
In a unique arrangement, both monthly magazines are also available in our store, so you can pick up either one — or even both — when you come in for your favorite record. Metal forever! \m/
